Frequently Asked Questions

Is anyone else doing this?

  • No. This is a patent-pending method of delivery and/or supplementation for pediatric intervention services based on a virtual, coaching-based model of programming. While there are apps marketed to help your child's communication development, as well as various methods of traditional therapy, there is not currently any other method that combines the convenience of an app with individualized expertise and feedback from a licensed therapist.

Do you take private clients?

  • I take a limited number of private clients. If you are a parent and are interested in private intervention programming, click my Private Clients tab to learn more and sign up if space is available.

Can I bill insurance?

  • There are several valid insurance codes that are applicable to this service model as a supplement to traditional therapy services. We are currently utilizing these in trials to confirm reimbursement rates and insurance policies. Please reach out with any further questions regarding insurance reimbursement.

What clients or contexts are appropriate for this model of supplementation?

  • Homework assignments or practice tasks assigned following standard weekly sessions

  • Supplementing alongside a limited number of in-person sessions due to insurance or scheduling limitations

  • Generalization monitoring with home carryover tasks prior to fully discharging from services

  • Kickstarting therapy programs for clients on the waitlist for weekly session times

  • Providing home intervention strategies for borderline clients who do not qualify for formal therapy but could benefit from extra support in one or more areas of development

  • Carryover for feeding skills, providing clear and specific strategies to implement during mealtimes at home to further enhance progress in sensory or oral motor based feeding delays

  • Provision of home exercises for Myofunctional therapy

Does it require extra time for therapists to implement?

  • No - Our goal is to provide a platform that is more efficient than traditional methods at sharing progress and home practice strategies. KaBloom is built to be as efficient as possible for therapists and parents, while maintaining the level of support and detail to allow for impactful results.

  • Therapists have the ability to plan therapy tasks ahead of time, leaving tasks "unpublished" until having practiced them with clients. The platform is mobile-friendly, giving therapists the ability to take and upload videos of tasks right there in the session, sharing strategies and progress with parents in real-time.

  • Therapists can make templates for frequently-assigned tasks, further optimizing their ability to quickly assign effective and individualized strategies for home programming.

  • We welcome any feedback to further enhance efficiency and/or effectiveness for therapists and families alike!

Is the platform HIPAA compliant?

  • The KaBloom platform is not yet HIPAA compliant, though we have incorporated early foundational coding to expand privacy measures and ensure full HIPAA compliance in the future. At this time, personally identifiable information should not be utilized within the platform without full disclosures and parental consent.
